Bank & Financial Statement OCR

Convert statement PDFs (Bank, Mutual Fund CAS, PF, NPS) into clean Excel and CSV ledgers with automated balance verification. Built for Indian CA firms, bookkeepers, and corporate finance desks.

Quick answer

Accie OCR extracts structured transaction ledgers from Bank, Mutual Fund (CAS), EPFO PF, and NPS PDFs. It checks that Opening Balance + Total Credits − Total Debits ≈ Closing Balance (±¥1) and exports clean Excel (.xlsx) and CSV files for immediate ledger import.

Supported financial statement types

Bank Statements

  • Statement period & account holder name
  • Transaction rows: Date, Description, Cheque/Ref No, Debit, Credit, Balance

Mutual Fund CAS

Consolidated Account Statements from CAMS and KFintech detailing folios, schemes, NAVs, and transactions.

  • Folio numbers & AMC scheme names
  • Transaction type (Purchase, SIP, Redemption, Switch)
  • Units, NAV, total transaction value, and stamp duty

EPFO Provident Fund

Annual and monthly Member Passbooks from the EPFO portal for employee benefit audits and tax computations.

  • UAN & Member ID details
  • Employee and Employer share contributions
  • Pension fund contribution & accrued interest

NPS Statements

Tier 1 and Tier 2 statements from CRA (Protean / KFintech) for retirement tax advisory and client net-worth reviews.

  • PRAN & PFM allocation percentages
  • Contribution history & tier distribution
  • Total units, NAV, and current holding value

Built-in soft balance reconciliation

Before exporting transactions to your accounting software, Accie automatically computes an arithmetic sanity check:

Formula: Opening Balance + Total Credits − Total Debits = Closing Balance (±¥1)

If transactions do not reconcile (e.g. missing middle pages or blurred scan lines), the document is marked with an amber Needs Review status in your workspace so you never import corrupt numbers into Tally or Excel.

Typical workflow for CA & accounting offices

  1. Unlock: Ensure the client’s statement PDF is unlocked (password removed).
  2. Upload: Drop single statements or bulk batches tagged by client name or assessment year.
  3. Verify: Confirm the green Reconciled check on opening/closing arithmetic.
  4. Export: Download structured Excel (.xlsx) or CSV for direct import into Tally, Zoho Books, SAP, or QuickBooks.

Security and data governance

Financial statements contain sensitive PAN, account, and transactional records. Accie processes all files inside Indian data centres and offers configurable organization retention from 1 to 30 days (default 7 days). Raw file bytes are purged automatically while audit trails are preserved.
